Browser Grid Pricing

📢 Announcement: Browser Grid is now available in all DCs. Use it for free until November 1, 2026.

Browser Grid is a robust component of the Catalyst SmartBrowz service that enables you to run multiple headless browsers in parallel on a scalable grid. A Browser Grid exposes a secure CDP or WebDriver endpoint compatible with any automation library that connects over CDP or WebDriver, including Puppeteer, Playwright, and Selenium, in Java, Node.js, or Python. On this Grid you can launch multiple headless Chrome and Firefox browsers to perform parallel automation testing, SEO monitoring, and ethical crawling at scale. Catalyst provides you the option to choose the number of nodes and its associated browsers.

Catalyst runs nodes only when your request load needs them, and Browser Grid is billed on node hours, which is the time your nodes actually run. You’re not charged for the number of nodes you configure. A grid set to 10 nodes costs nothing for nodes that never start. In the same vein, a grid in the Inactive state runs no nodes, so it incurs no charges.

Node run time is measured in GiB-minutes: a node’s memory in GiB multiplied by the minutes it runs. Larger node types use more GiB-minutes for each hour they run. Browser Grid is billed at $0.00187 per GiB-minute of node run time, irrespective of the billing plan that you’re part of.

Node type Memory per node (GiB) Rate per running node-minute (USD) Rate per running node-hour (USD)
Basic / Light 1 0.00187 0.1122
Moderate 2 0.00374 0.2244
Heavy 4 0.00748 0.4488

Pricing Example

A team runs a 3-hour regression suite on a Moderate grid (2GiB Memory, 2vCPU) configured for up to 5 nodes, with 2 browsers per node. The hub starts nodes only as the load needs them.

Nodes Run time (minutes) Node-minutes GiB-minutes (× 2 GiB) Cost (USD)
2 nodes, full suite 180 360 720 1.3464
3 nodes, 1-hour peak 60 180 360 0.6732
Total 540 1,080 2.02

If all 5 configured nodes were billed for the full 3 hours, the run would use 1,800 GiB-minutes and cost $3.37.

Notice: Any Browser action or operation that you code using the Browser Logic function, or any browser automation or web scraping task that you perform using any component of Catalyst SmartBrowz is at your own risk. We strongly recommend you use the SmartBrowz components to perform operations on domains that permit such actions, or with proper approval.Additionally, while Catalyst does provide a secure infrastructure to code your functions, any consequence of the logic you code using Catalyst functions is yours alone.
