Introducing the JavaScript SDK: Server and Browser, Unified

Catalyst’s Modular JavaScript SDK has moved out of beta and is now available to all developers.

This offering is a fitting upgrade to conventional monolithic Node.js and Web SDK offerings. The JavaScript SDK will replace both the Node.js SDK and Web SDK with a single, modular library that works across server and browser environments. Instead of installing and maintaining two separate SDKs for your backend and frontend, you now import only the components you need, once.

Key Offerings

• One SDK for both server-side and browser-side Catalyst operations.
• Complete TypeScript support.
• Only import what you use, no dead code weighing down your build or slowing your app.
• Access to all Catalyst services and its components: Serverless, CloudScale (Authentication, DataStore, NoSQL, Stratus, Cache, Connections, Mail, Push Notifications), Zia Services, SmartBrowz, Job Scheduling, Pipelines, QuickML, and Connectors.

What This Means for Current Node.js (v2) and Web SDK (v4) Users

• The current versions of Node.js SDK (v2) and Web SDK (v4) are now in maintenance mode.
• With effect from 1st October 2026, the Node.js and Web SDKs enter the deprecation stage. No support for new features. Only security fixes will be applied, should any arise.
• With effect from 1st October 2027, all functionalities and support for the Node.js and Web SDK will be terminated.

We strongly recommend migrating your codebase to the JavaScript SDK, to avoid unnecessary disruptions.
