Ecosystem of Signals
As depicted above, Catalyst Signals comprises of various elements, each with a specific functionality and scope.
Events: This refers to any significant occurrence of action or change within an environment or application.
Publisher: It acts as a source from where events will be published. The component helps in authenticating and managing the list of sources. It can either be any of the Zoho products, external SAAS products, or a custom product.
Rules: They establish a relationship between the Publisher and the Target. This relationship is based on the rule containing filters that determine when and where to convey the events from the Publisher.
Targets: A target is usually an endpoint that serves as a destination for the events generated by a Publisher. Signals support three types of targets: Webhooks, Functions and Circuits.
Webhooks: This is one of the majorly used target types to which the event details are shared with. The component holds the necessary configurations for a webhook to be used in Signals.
