Elements

As depicted above, Catalyst Signals comprises of various elements, each with a specific functionality and scope.

Events: This refers to any significant occurrence of action or change within an environment or application.

Publisher: It acts as a source from where events will be published. The component helps in authenticating and managing the list of sources. It can either be any of the Zoho products, or a custom product.

Rules: They establish a relationship between the Publisher and the Target. This relationship is based on the rule containing filters that determine when and where to convey the events from the Publisher.

Targets: A target is usually an endpoint that serves as a destination for the events generated by a Publisher. Signals support three types of targets: Webhooks, Functions and Circuits.

Webhooks: This is one of the majorly used target types to which the event details are shared with. The component holds the necessary configurations for a webhook to be used in Signals.
