Go to the [Spring Initializr website](https://start.spring.io/). ![catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_homescreen](https://catalyst-docs-development.zohostratus.in/images/tutorials/leadmanager-appsail/catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_homescreen.webp) 2. Choose or Enter the required details in the following manner: - Select **Maven** as *Project*, **Java** as *Language*, and latest *Spring Boot* version (avoid versions labeled SNAPSHOT or M). - Enter "`com.catalyst.appsail`" as the *Group*, "`leadmanager`" as the *Artifact*, and provide a suitable description. The *Name*, and *Package name* fields will be automatically populated. - Select **Jar** as the *Packaging*, and **17** as the *Java* version. ![catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_populate_feilds](https://catalyst-docs-development.zohostratus.in/images/tutorials/leadmanager-appsail/catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_populate_feilds.webp) 3. Click the **ADD DEPENDENCIES** button, on the right side of the screen, and select **Sping Web** in the drop-down and select the dependency. This step will install all the necessary dependencies required to build a Spring Boot web application when you generate the package. ![catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_spring_web_sel](https://catalyst-docs-development.zohostratus.in/images/tutorials/leadmanager-appsail/catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_spring_web_sel.webp) 4. Confirm all your selections, and click **Generate**. ![catalyst_tutorials_leadmanger_appsail_spriongboot_generate](https://catalyst-docs-development.zohostratus.in/images/tutorials/leadmanager-appsail/catalyst_tutorials_leadmanger_appsail_springboot_generate.webp) The **leadmanager** Spring Boot project will be downloaded to your local system as a zip file. Unzip the downloaded file and this directory, `leadmanager/` will be our local directory where we initialize the Catalyst AppSail service for our project. Along with all the required dependencies, it will also contain the `LeadManagerApplication.java` file. This file will contain the logic that allows you to run the application on Spring Boot. The `leadmanager/` **Spring Boot - JAR** directory will look like this: ![catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_pre_init](https://catalyst-docs-development.zohostratus.in/images/tutorials/leadmanager-appsail/catalyst_tutorials_leadmanager_appsail_springboot_pre_init.webp) > **Info:** This tutorial has created a **Spring Boot** project to demonstrate building a **Spring Boot - JAR** project, and deploying it as an AppSail service. You can learn how to do the same with **Spring Boot - WAR** projects from this [help documentation](https://docs.catalyst.zoho.com/en/serverless/help/appsail/help-guides/java/spring-boot/#spring-boot---war). For more information on how to create a Spring Boot project, you can visit their official [help documentation](https://spring.io/guides/gs/spring-boot).
