# Search

### Search Data in Indexed Columns

The search process specifies the pattern to search for in the search indexed columns of the tables. You can search for
data in multiple tables or just data in search indexed columns.

### Get Component Instance

The `search` reference can be created using the following method which does not fire a server-side call:

let search = app.search();
```
